The excitement of football returns to the pitch in Catarroja
The pitch has been restored thanks to donations from LALIGA EA SPORTS, Divina Seguros, and contributions to the 'FILA CERO SOLIDARIA'
The 'Mundial 82' football pitch in Catarroja reopened its doors this Tuesday afternoon, after being restored thanks to Valencia CF, through the Fundació VCF, LALIGA EA SPORTS, Divina Seguros, and contributions made to the 'FILA CERO SOLIDARIA' through the club’s solidarity initiative 'UNITS COM SEMPRE'.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by the General Director of Valencia CF - Javier Solís, Valencia CF player - Hugo Duro, Valencia CF Femenino player - Kerlly Real, club ambassadors - Ricardo Arias, Miguel Ángel Bossio, and Miguel Tendillo-, the legend -José Manuel Sempere-, General Director of Sports for the GVA - Luis Cervera, President of the FFCV - Salvador Gomar, President of Divina Seguros - Armando Nieto, President of the Valencia CF Footballers’ Association - Fernando Giner, President of the Valencianist Supporters’ Clubs Association - Fede Sagreras, President of FBCD Catarroja - Óscar Banacloy, and the Mayor of Catarroja - Lorena Silvent.
The day began with an activity for the children in attendance, who enjoyed the company of Valencia CF’s official mascot, ‘AMUNT’. This was followed by speeches from the representatives of the different organizations involved. Afterward, a commemorative plaque was unveiled, and the event concluded with a training session led by coaches from the VCF Academy and the partner school FBCD Catarroja.
After this inauguration, the children of FBCD Catarroja can once again enjoy this sports facility, which had been devastated by the severe DANA storm that hit numerous towns in the Valencian Community. This event marks another step toward the return to normalcy in physical, social, and educational activities, supporting the physical and emotional development of the young footballers affected by the flooding.
COLLABORATION WITH RENOWNED ENTITIES
Divina Seguros, the official insurer of Valencia CF, joined the Club’s ‘UNITS COM SEMPRE’ solidarity initiative from the outset, matching the highest donation made to the 'FILA CERO SOLIDARIA'. In addition, Divina Seguros provided private health coverage, at no cost, for both accidents and illnesses to over 1,000 children from football schools affected by the storm.
“At Divina Seguros, we believe that sport is a powerful tool for social cohesion, and bringing joy back to these pitches means restoring hope to an entire community,” stated Armando Nieto, President of Divina Seguros.
Moreover, the Valencia-based company, along with Valencia CF and the Fundació VCF, donated a musical instrument to both the ‘Societat Musical L’Artesana de Catarroja’ and the ‘Unió Musical de Catarroja’, bands that were also affected by the flooding.
The collaboration of LALIGA EA SPORTS for the field's restoration is part of its FC FUTURES project, which aims to ensure easy and high-quality access to football for children and youth around the world. As part of this initiative, footballs and sports equipment were also donated to the affected schools in the area.
