Núñez: "It's the perfect time for me to join a club like Valencia CF"
The defender addresses questions in his official unveiling

Winter signing Guido Rodríguez was officially presented on Thursday, and addressed questions from the media at the event.
The length of his contract
“There were negotiations, but we were short on time. In the transfer window, time is of the essence; there were only a few days left before it closed, and it wasn’t easy to get deals done. The most important thing is the effort the club and I put in, and how willing West Ham United were to help all three parties reach an agreement and for me to be here at Valencia CF today. I always knew I wanted to come here. The six-month contract was the only way to make it happen. If we’d had more time, of course I would have agreed to come in for a longer time period. But there’s time for everything to be arranged.”
Arriving at Valencia CF
“I’m very happy and excited, and I’m going to try to show that every day and when I'm on the pitch. I was eager to return to LaLiga and to come to Valencia CF. From the moment the negotiations began and the possibility arose, I was very happy to come here. I pushed hard for the move and was eager to return. The contract is set out for these next few months, but I would love to do well here -so that the club want me to stay, and so that I want to stay too.”
The dressing room
“We've been given a really good welcome. Victories help, and it’s very important that the team are united, and we can see that they are.”
His goals
“This is a club with a lot of history. The current situation is one that the club wouldn’t want to be in, but we have to work to start looking upwards in the table. This is a day-by-day job, and if we keep winning games, ultimately, the numbers will tell the story.”
The World Cup
“There was talk, and representing Argentina is always on my mind, but I’m focused on Valencia CF, on myself, and on doing things well. Once things go well, that will determine whether or not I get called up to the national team. Getting into that squad is very difficult, and I hope I can return, but I’m focused on Valencia CF and myself right now.”
His conversation with Carlos Corberán
"The things a coach asks of a player are just part of football. The coach's idea is clear: That we need to have the ball, to create scoring opportunities. The more technical or specific details remain private."
Europe
“The numbers tell the story, although your ambition must always be there. A winning mentality and a positive outlook, always looking ahead and at improving, must also always be present.”
His fitness
“I’m available to the coach. We’ve been working all week. At West Ham United, I didn’t play that many minutes, but I kept training and stayed in shape.”
What he can offer the team
“I’m here to help. I like to do my talking on the pitch, and have a positive, winning mentality. We’re here to contribute. Together, we can improve the situation and win matches, which is what’s important.”
Valencia CF
“Valencia CF have the image of an historic club that have achieved a lot of things. The club are not going through their best period right now, but that doesn't stop them from being an attractive and important club for players. Things also depends on seasons and circumstances, and we can turn things around and continue improving with everyone who works here.”.
