“I love him as a player. He exudes football, his movement, his verticality — he brings a lot to the attack. He’s a very talented player and a great signing. He really hurts the opposition.”
Ricardo Arias: “Playing the first match at Mestalla is a big boost - we have to take advantage of it”
The Valencia CF legend and Club ambassador reacts to the LALIGA EA SPORTS 2025/26 fixture list on L’Informatiu on VCF Media Radio.
Valencia CF now know their fixture list for the new LALIGA EA SPORTS 2025/26 season. Club legend and ambassador Ricardo Arias spoke to VCF Media Radio about the start of the campaign.
Fixture list
“There are a lot of ways to look at it. The anticipation was high. In recent seasons we’ve had terribly tough starts to LaLiga. Starting at home brings challenges, but also a sense of calm and responsibility. It’s a more ‘normal’ calendar than usual. Last year’s start was really difficult. Starting at home, in front of your fans, is very important. I always find something to criticise, but at least it’s not like last year. We need to try and get as many points as possible, as quickly as possible.”
Opening match at Mestalla
“Starting at home is a real boost, and we have to make the most of it. It’s a promising start. It’s always good to begin at home with the chance to start strong. For a player, winning that first match is reassuring and helps you approach the following games differently.”
Derbis in the Valencian Community
“I’m delighted that we have four teams from the Comunitat Valenciana in LALIGA. The more teams we have, the better we represent Valencian football at the national level. It’s great news for everyone.”
Mestalla
“The fans are hungry after the summer. The support will be there. Playing with that advantage wins you points - it’s essential. The fans helped us a lot last season. There’s a reason we were awarded the best fanbase in the league.”
The team
“No one should doubt that the team will compete. The level of demand Carlos places on the players has proven effective. He’s found the right approach to build a team that everyone supports and believes in. The team commands respect and knows how to fight for what it wants. That’s the path we must stay on.”
