Pepelu: "The draw enables us to take away many positives"
The midfielder assesses the game against Real Betis
Pepelu spoke to VCF Media about the 1-1 draw with Real Betis, following the final whistle.
A GOOD FEELING
“It’s a point that we should value, especially because of the feeling. I think the team showed heart and left everything on the pitch. Despite how the game went, we recovered. We always aim for victory, but we can take many positives from a draw.”
A POSSIBLE TURNING POINT
“It’s time to rest and to analyse the reasons for this recent run. Starting with today’s game, we have to look ahead, improve a lot, work hard, and change our fortunes.”
REACTION
“We are working on our mentality so that, even when certain situations arise in matches, we know we have to recover and continue with our approach. That hallmark is what allows us to compete at the highest level and be closer to winning matches.”
TACTICAL VARIATIONS
“We all know the coach uses many tactical variations. He analyses games very well, and it's a different approach that I think has worked very well. We dominated many facets of the game, and what we practiced came to fruition. It's another variation that enriches the team's style of play.”
MESTALLA
“Mestalla was incredible today. From on the pitch, there was a feeling that the fans were with us, supporting every move and every moment. During the toughest times, they were pushing us on, and when we were riding a wave of positive momentum, it was amazing. This is what it should always be like; that connection should never be lost. We have to give our all on the pitch, and give them a reason to keep believing in us.”
