Valencia CF host and highlight the importance of the Nou Mestalla during meetings to discuss key topics and shape the future of European football
In recent days, Mestalla has served as the venue for various meetings of the ECA (European Clubs Association) Working Groups, an organization that strives to give clubs a voice, debate key topics, and chart the course for the future of European football.
As host, Valencia CF emphasized the importance of the Nou Mestalla, the most significant non-sporting project in the Club’s history, which from 2027 will become our new home: a stadium that will elevate the experience for fans and visitors alike, becoming a hub for sports and entertainment while also playing a crucial role in generating revenue for the coming decades.
Within this context, Atlético de Madrid shared its strategy for event management, Real Sociedad discussed its work in the hospitality sector, and AC Milan addressed the challenges of managing an older and historically significant stadium like San Siro, which bears certain similarities to the current Mestalla Stadium.
The second day focused on financial topics, including updates on the Clearing House system, revenue distributions for teams supplying players to European and FIFA competitions, and recent or upcoming changes to UEFA regulations.
REPRESENTATION FROM CLUBS ACROSS EUROPE’S TOP LEAGUES
The eight ECA Working Groups are composed of over 200 representatives from 41 countries and 114 clubs, covering work areas such as men’s football, women’s football, youth football, finance, commercial and innovation, sustainability, legal and governance, and development.
Alongside the aforementioned clubs, Mestalla Stadium welcomed representatives from top European leagues, including FC Inter, FC Shakhtar Donetsk, FC Lugano, Como 1907, Manchester City, PSG, Zabbar St Patrick FC, Chelsea FC, RB Leipzig, FC Inter Turku, FK Austria Wien, FC Viktoria Plzen, Celtic FC, Europa FC, FK Crvena Zvezda, Stade Rennais FC, Omonoia FC, AFC Ajax, Sporting CP, AS Monaco, Borussia Dortmund, PSV Eindhoven, Manchester United, US Hostert, Fenerbahce SK, FC Copenhagen, and Maccabi Haifa FC.
