Valencia CF played their second match of the 2025/26 preseason with a 0-0 draw against CD Leganés. Julen Agirrezabala made his unofficial debut as a Valencia CF player in the friendly.
Valencia CF started the match very actively and dynamically, dominating possession and producing the first attacking plays. However, the most dangerous action of these opening minutes came from Leganés forward Miguel, who attempted an acrobatic shot inside the box, testing debutant Julen Agirrezabala.
Past the midway point of the first half, Valencia CF created two dangerous chances down the right wing, with Rioja and Rubo at the heart of both. They broke into the box and delivered passes towards the penalty spot, but no teammate was able to get on the end of them.
The clearest chance of the match came in the 35th minute with a shot from outside the box by Almeida after a move by Sergio Canós, but it went wide of Juan Soriano’s goal. Valencia CF finished the first half attacking the Leganés box, after Pepelu recovered the ball and started a counterattack, finding Hugo Duro, but the move was ruled offside.
After the break and several changes for both sides, the match continued at a high intensity. Diego López found Fran Pérez in the opposition box, but his shot was blocked by Rubén Peña. Shortly after, the Asturian winger came close to scoringwith a strike from the left corner of the box that went just outside the far post.
In the 70th minute, Fran Pérez once again broke into the box, but his cross to the near post was deflected by the Leganés defence. CD Leganés tried to react by keeping possession, but without creating any real danger. Valencia CF pushed for the win until the end, with Raba going close to scoring from a free kick.
Valencia CF will play their third match of the 2025/26 preseason on Tuesday, July 29th at 20:45h, against Olympique de Marseille at the Nou Estadi Costa Daurada in Tarragona.
