Looking back at the players from Mali who have represented Valencia CF throughout history
Five footballers make up this Valencianista list
Aliou Dieng is now a new Valencia CF player. The Malian midfielder joins a list of four other compatriots who have worn the Valencia CF jersey. Take a look at their names here:
The list is made up of: Aliou Dieng himself, Salif Keita -the first African player in Valencia CF history and winner of the African Ballon d'Or-, 'Momo' Sissoko -a key figure in the midfield of the 'Treble'-, Seydou Keita -Salif Keita's nephew, who won over the fans during the season he spent at the Club- and Ibrahim Diallo -who played several matches for the first team during the 2015-16 season-.
"Seydou Keita and Sissoko are world references and, at national level, they are legends. It will be a source of pride to be able to follow in their footsteps. I hope to be up to the task and, through hard work, go even further. I hope to make the Club proud," said Dieng during his presentation as a new Valencia CF player.
