Mestalla once again takes centre stage in the ‘Reminiscence Workshops’ by the ‘LALIGA Foundation’ and ‘Siempre Futbolistas FEAFV’
This project aims to stimulate and recover older people's memories through football
The annual event recognises longtime supporters
This May, Valencia CF paid tribute to those who have been members for over 50 years. Mestalla hosted the annual recognition of these dedicated supporters.
“This is one of those days that will be forever etched in the memory at the club. A day to recognise something that cannot be explained with words alone -because we are not just celebrating a number, we are celebrating half a century of commitment, feeling and passion for the club,” said Valencia CF Director General, Javier Solís, at the event.
In addition to Solís, in attendance on behalf of the club were: Team Manager of the first team, Voro González; Valencia CF legend Pepe Claramunt; Valencia CF ambassadors Ricardo Arias and Miguel Tendillo; President of the VCF Footballers Association, Fernando Giner; and the honorary president of the AFVCF, Vicente Guillot.
“It’s been many years that I've been coming here and, hopefully, I'll be here for many more. It was a very emotional event, very well organised and handled with great care,” expressed Luis Urrutia, one of those with more than 50 years of uninterrupted membership.
The 35 members present received a badge for their longtime loyalty to Valencia CF.
