Rioja: "The team had a very complete performance"

 Valencia CF winger Luis Rioja analysed the victory against Sevilla FC, speaking to VCF Media.

Winning the game

“We were coming off a difficult week, with a result we didn't want, and we wanted to give the fans this happiness. The team had a very complete, very competitive performance. We are happy and hope to continue with the great work we did today. We know that Sevilla FC are a team who compete well, who are physical and powerful in duels; we tried to match that intensity and we succeeded. At times, we were very good with the ball, and that helped us take the advantage and consolidate it with the goals.

Keeping a clean sheet

“It's very important. We know that we have a team that take our chances well, we have decisive players, and if we keep a clean sheet, we have a great chance of winning games. The team competed like a family, as a group, and when you compete like that, it's very difficult to lose.”

The travelling fans

“They deserved this victory. We know what this club means to the fans, and what the fans mean to the club. We tried to give our all for them. It was a great turnout; they support us everywhere we go.”

The international break

“We’ll have a few days to prepare well for the next match; Celta Vigo are going to be very tough opponents. Now it’s time to rest and enjoy this victory, and then we’ll prepare for the next game and keep adding three points to our total.”
