Valencia CF received a visit from the Valencian athlete from the Real Club Náutico de Valencia, Blanca Ferrando, and her coach, Borja Mas. Both attended the match against Sevilla FC at the Mestalla Stadium.
"It is an honor that such a big club like Valencia CF invites me to Mestalla. It makes me very happy, and I am also very grateful that they give visibility to a sport like sailing. When I was little, my father had a season ticket and we used to come many Sundays," said the Valencian sailor.
Blanca was crowned World Champion in ILCA 4 last July in Los Angeles and Spanish Cup Champion in November. Ferrando is currently number one in the national ranking in this sailing category.
“We are very grateful because sailing is a minority sport, it’s hard for it to reach people, and that a club like Valencia CF, with its fanbase and impact, supports it — we are absolutely delighted,” explained Borja Mas, Blanca’s coach.
The Valencia legend and ambassador of the club — Miguel Tendillo — welcomed the sailor and her coach and presented her with a personalized shirt with her name on it.
