Rioja: "The team fought for the three points"
The goalscorer reviews the game against Sevilla FC
Valencia CF's Luis Rioja spoke after his side drew 1-1 with Sevilla FC in LALIGA EA SPORTS.
The game
“We understood perfectly the spaces they were leaving at the back in the first few minutes. Then they felt more comfortable and pushed us back. In the second half, we went ahead, we tried to maintain the scoreline and cause some surprises on the counterattack, and then we had the misfortune of the last few minutes. On a collective level, the team competed and fought for the three points.”
Competitivity
“The team were up to the challenge in the last two games, against big teams. Our play and intensity has not been fairly rewarded in terms of points, but we have to be strong and overcome this. From now on we have to think about the Copa del Rey, which is an exciting competition, and then prepare well for the game against Real Sociedad. I'm sure that our fans will give us the boost we need."
