Diego López: "We leave here with a bittersweet taste in our mouths"
The goalscorer looks back on the draw with Rayo Vallecano
Valencia CF's Diego López spoke to VCF Media after the 1-1 draw with Rayo Vallecano on LaLiga Matchday 14.
The game
“We’re left with a bittersweet taste in our mouths. In the first half, they outplayed us down the wings, with a lot of crosses, and from a set piece they found the net. In the second half, we saw the team we’d been looking like in the previous two weeks. It’s a shame we didn’t play like that in the first half because we could have won. We were confident we could win here. I’m happy with the goal because it helped us take a point away from here.”
Tactics
“We struggled to understand the link-up between the wingers and the full-backs. Their full-backs tracked us very easily and they forced us into a low block. We didn't correct that at halftime.”
The upcoming games
“First we have a very important Copa del Rey match against a difficult opponent, and then we will think about Sevilla FC, against whom we will have to make good on today's point.”
