López and Sadiq among nominees for LALIGA EA SPORTS 2024-25 Season Awards
The winger is a candidate for Best U-23 Player; the striker, for Best Goal
Valencia CF winger Diego López and forward Umar Sadiq have been nominated for the LALIGA EA SPORTS 2024/25 season awards.
López is one of the nominees for Best U-23 Player of the Season. The winger was one of the standout performers for Valencia CF, was the team's second top scorer with 8 goals, and was the the leading assist provider with 5. He played 2,760 minutes in total. Notably, he was already named Best U-23 Player for the month of March. The academy product is also a regular in Spain’s U-21 national team.
The voting for Best U-23 Player puts him up against Lamine Yamal (FC Barcelona), Alberto Moleiro (UD Las Palmas), Pedri (FC Barcelona), Arda Güler (Real Madrid CF), Fábio Silva (UD Las Palmas) and Jude Bellingham (Real Madrid CF). Voting concludes on May 31st at 11:59pm.
Umar Sadiq has been nominated for Best Goal of the Season for his strike against CA Osasuna at El Sadar. The Nigerian forward was previously shortlisted for Goal of the Month and Player of the Month for March.
In the Best Goal of the Season category, he competes with Juan Cruz (CD Leganés), Abdul Mumin (Rayo Vallecano), Luka Sucic (Real Sociedad), Munir (CD Leganés), Krejci (Girona FC), Puado (RCD Espanyol), Perraud (Real Betis), and Nico Williams (Athletic Club). Voting also closes on Saturday, May 31st at 11:59pm.
