The Cantabrian footballer at his presentation as a Valencia CF player
Valencia CF player Dani Raba appeared before the media this Monday on the occasion of his signing with the Valencian club. The event was also special due to the presence of several children affected by the flash flooods in Aldaia. Former Valencia player Sergio Canales also welcomed him.
Representing Valencia CF
"Representing Valencia CF is representing the history of football, what the Club stands for both nationally and internationally. I'm very happy and proud to wear this shirt. I'm really looking forward to the season starting so I can wear it, for the first time, at Mestalla."
Signing for the club
"Even before the end of LaLiga, we had contact with Corona and Corberán. They conveyed their excitement and desire for me to come here, and I didn’t even have to think about it. I chose Valencia CF because we all know what this Club is. Thanks to Corona and Corberán for transmitting that excitement and enthusiasm. The conversations we had made me decide for Valencia CF. I never had any doubts."
Objectives
"I’ve just arrived, and everyone’s goal is to avoid suffering like we did in the first half of last season. I’ve just arrived, today is the first day the whole team is together, and little by little, we’ll figure things out."
Corberán
"Today was our first contact. My teammates have told me all good things: he’s very methodical, a good coach, approachable, and the results from the second half of last season speak for themselves."
Sporting project
"We all know what Valencia CF is. I’ve come here to contribute, to grow personally and professionally, and to help Valencia CF grow as much as possible."
Footballing characteristics
"I feel comfortable in the attacking positions. I can be aggressive, break lines, deliver key passes, get into scoring positions… I have things to contribute, and then the coach will decide where I should play."
2024–25 season
"Valencia CF was in a critical situation in the first half of last season, and then the turnaround they achieved has to be highlighted. It’s not easy. They played a Champions League-level second half of the season."
Experience
"I’m arriving at a good point in my career, with maturity. I’m here to contribute both on and off the pitch."
Personal goals
"They’re tied to the team’s goals. I’m here to contribute in training, matches, the locker room…"
Team
"Personally, I didn’t know anyone beforehand, but I’ve faced many of them over the years. It’s a good group, and everyone is united. That’s very positive."
Mestalla
"It’s one of those stadiums that impresses you when you come as an opponent — how the fans push and support for all 90 minutes. It’s a tough place to play. This year, we have to make it a fortress, make teams suffer when they come here and make it hard for them to beat us. It’s a stadium where you love to come and compete."
