The team and his family surprised him on the occasion of his farewell from Valencia CF after 12 years at the Club
Jaume Domènech leaves behind a legacy at Valencia CF. His exemplary Valencianista DNA, professionalism, and leadership have been defining values throughout the goalkeeper from Almenara’s time at the Club. Undoubtedly, these qualities have made him one of the most beloved and influential players in the dressing room over the years.
And so, the entire team and his family wanted to show their appreciation with a very special surprise to mark his farewell from the Club after 12 years—10 of which were spent in the first team—defending the Valencianista badge. Valencia CF’s General Director, Javier Solís, presented him with a commemorative plaque in recognition of his career at the club.
Domènech and his VCF DNA
In the summer of 2013, Jaume Domènech arrived at the Ciutat Esportiva de Paterna to guard the goal of VCF Mestalla and made his first-team debut on September 12, 2015, at El Molinón. From that moment on, it’s been 10 years filled with emotion, courage, and brotherhood—values that embody the VCF DNA so deeply rooted in Valencia CF and its players.
Domènech is the eleventh goalkeeper—with the first team—with the most official matches (122) in the Club’s history and played a crucial role in the team’s Copa del Rey title in 2019 and the runner-up finish in the 2022 edition. Furthermore, he has served as one of the team captains and is a role model for young players coming through the VCF Academy.
