Valencia CF open a new VCF Academy in Australia

The VCF Academy Adelaide joins the Club’s international projects in America, Asia, Europe and Oceania

The Valencia CF bat makes its longest flight to reach Australia, where this month of January the VCF Academy Adelaide is being opened. This represents an important step in the internationalisation of Valencia CF, in a country where football is continuously growing.

The first venue of the VCF Academy Adelaide, one of the main cities in the country, is located at the facilities of Underdale High School. This January is when it begins its activity with teams from different categories, from under-8 to under-16, as a continuation of the VCF Camps that last July already brought together close to one hundred young players.

“We are very happy with this link with Valencia CF because it is the best opportunity we can offer to players in Australia and their families to provide one of the best development pathways in European football with one of the most important clubs in LALIGA,” explains Mitchell Nicholson, director of the VCF Academy Adelaide, which is being launched in collaboration with MRFootball.

NEW ACADEMIES

“We are starting the VCF Academy in Adelaide, but we want to have a greater presence and open up this opportunity not only to a small community but to all of Australia,” Nicholson points out.

Work is currently already under way on more locations in this city in the south of Australia, with the launch of a second venue in O'Sullivan’s Beach and very soon also in the north-west area of the Adelaide region.

international growth

With the new VCF Academy Adelaide, Valencia CF fulfil a long-held aspiration of being able to have a presence on all continents. “For us it is very important to continue expanding our presence at an international level in order to spread the image of Valencia Club de Fútbol throughout the world,” explains Luis Martínez, director of the VCF Academy.

“Through our VCF Academy Programs, during the last season we have had projects in America, Asia, Africa, Europe and now also in Oceania. We see that there is increasing interest from clubs and entities abroad in partnering with the Valencia CF Academy and being able to better understand our working methodology,” concludes Luis Martínez, director of a VCF Academy that is one of the best in Europe in training players to compete at the elite level, according to reports by the CIES Football Observatory.

VERY SPECIAL MEETING

A delegation from the VCF Academy Adelaide took part in recent days in a Training Experience at Valencia CF’s Ciudad Deportiva, where in addition to completing a full training experience, they had the opportunity to meet the players and coaching staff of the first team.

“We wanted to welcome you and tell you that we are very happy to see you here, and we hope to see you many more times in the future,” Sadiq told them before presenting them with the jersey of the new VCF Academy Adelaide.

The VCF Academy Programs have been spreading the Valencia CF brand image across every corner of the planet for more than 20 years. Each season, more than 5,000 children from over 50 countries take part in one of the different programs that make up this project.

Valencia CF currently have VCF Academies in Mexico, the USA, Canada, Greece, Cyprus, South Korea and Australia, as well as permanent projects in England, the Netherlands, Belgium, Italy or Malta, Saudi Arabia, Hungary or Serbia, among others, in addition to the VCF Camps held across all five continents.
