After victories in the first two matches against Tottenham Hotspur (1-3) and Nottingham Forest (0-1), Valencia's reserve team is aiming for a third consecutive win against Wolverhampton, which would bring them closer to qualifying for the Quarterfinals of this international U21 competition organized by the Premier League, featuring 32 teams from various countries.
The Valencia side will face a Wolverhampton team that has yet to secure a win in this group stage, having drawn 3-3 against Dinamo Zagreb and suffered a 0-3 loss to Ajax Amsterdam.

"It’s a tournament I really like," admits Miguel Ángel Angulo. "We’re playing to secure another three points and nearly guarantee qualification, and we’re up against Wolves, a team with very little chance of advancing. They’ve used a wide variety of players in this competition, so we expect a very young team. We’ll also try to give minutes to players who haven’t had many opportunities," explained the VCF Mestalla coach.

The team, led by the Asturian coach, is entering its third consecutive season in a high-level competition where they reached the semifinals in 2022/23. This year, the tournament has expanded the number of participants and the diversity of countries they represent.
The 32 participating teams are divided into four groups of eight. Each team plays four matches against English teams, with the top two from each group advancing to the quarterfinals.
