Pepe Claramunt lends his name to the Escoles Cor Blanquinegre Tournaments at the Ciutat Esportiva VCF
2026 has been declared the “Any Claramunt” (Claramunt Year) to mark the 80th anniversary of the birth of the Valencianist legend (10/07/1946).
More than 60 boys and girls from Escoles Cor Blanquinegre have enjoyed a new tournament at the Ciutat Esportiva VCF, linked to this sports-educational initiative run by the Valencia CF Foundation and the Valencia Provincial Council, which is now in its 11th season.
The event featured a special guest, Pepe Claramunt, a Valencia CF legend. In his honour, the City Council of Puçol, his hometown, has declared 2026 the “Any Claramunt” to commemorate the 80th anniversary of his birth (10/07/1946).
For this reason, this tournament and two others scheduled at the Ciutat Esportiva VCF on April 22 and May 6 will form part of the Pepe Claramunt Trophy 2026.
In fact, students from the six participating schools so far have received their medals featuring this reference.
The six schools involved have been: CEIP Carme Miquel (Algemesí), CEIP L’Horta (Paiporta), CEIP Orba (Alfafar), CEIP Padre Manjón (Valencia – La Torre), CEIP Almudena Muñoz (Valencia), and CEIP Vicente Blasco Ibáñez (Barrio del Cristo).
