Prevedini: "From the moment Valencia CF contacted me, I had no doubts"
Interview with the new VCF Mestalla centre-back
He has only been in Valencia for a few hours, but Mateo Prevedini already feels like a true valencianista. The new VCF Mestalla player, who has already trained this Thursday under Miguel Ángel Angulo, shared his thoughts with VCF Media after his signing for the Club’s reserve team was made official.
"Joining Valencia CF and VCF Mestalla is a very important challenge for me. From the very first moment they contacted me, I had no doubts," said the tall Italo-Argentine centre-back, who was warmly welcomed upon arrival. "It's a very close-knit, family-like club, and I truly feel like I'm part of a family here. I’m really happy about that."
At 22 years old, Prevedini joins VCF Mestalla bringing experience in defence after playing over 30 matches last season with AD Mérida in the Primera Federación.
"I'm a centre-back with strong aerial ability, great work ethic, determination, grit, and humility. I never give up and always push forward, ready to contribute in whatever way I can," he said. "My goal is to help the team reach as high as possible in the league, and on a personal level, to keep growing."
Valencia CF is his third club in Spain, where he arrived four years ago after coming through the youth system at Independiente. Since then, he has played for AD Alcorcón's youth teams and the first team of AD Mérida. While in Spain, he was called up by Argentina's U-20 national team—a country with a strong historic link to Valencia CF.
"Valencia CF has had great Argentine centre-backs throughout its history—Ayala, and more recently, Otamendi. Hopefully, I can follow in their footsteps, always with humility and hard work."
