Mikel Crespo, new coach of VCF Femenino
The Basque coach brings experience in women's football in Spain, having guided Deportivo Alavés to promotion to the top tier during the 2020-21 season
VCF Femenino will return to action in Primera Iberdrola following the international break. VCF Femenino will take on FC Barcelona, this Saturday, 25th of September at 12 pm kick-off time at the Johan Cruyff stadium on Matchday 3 of Primera Iberdrola.
Andrea Esteban’s side will visit the league leaders and treble holders of the UEFA Women´s Champions League, the Primera Iberdrola and the Copa de SM la Reina.
The game sees a remarkable challenge for VCF Femenino who are yet to record their opening win of the season following an away loss to Real Sociedad (4-1) in the season opener and a 2-2 home draw to Sporting Club Huelva. They are in 12th place.
Jonatán Giráldez’s side are in first place with two wins from their two opening games against UD Granadilla by (5-0) and (0-5) against Real Betis respectively.
