The multinational company will oversee project management and construction supervision, ensuring the highest standards of safety and health at the new stadium.
Valencia CF has reached an agreement with SGS, a global leader in inspection, verification, testing, and certification, to play a key role in the supervision and execution of the Nou Mestalla project.
SGS will act as an independent third party, overseeing the construction process, verifying compliance with regulations, quality standards, and contractual commitments, and ensuring the proper execution of the work from an impartial standpoint.
With strong technical capabilities and a prominent presence in the market, SGS’s role is fundamental to ensuring that the construction of Nou Mestalla proceeds according to the allocated budget, established timelines, and the high quality standards expected. This commitment reinforces the Club’s dedication to an infrastructure that promises to become a sporting and architectural benchmark in Europe.
Additionally, SGS will assume the role of Construction Execution Management (DEO), a key function under Spain’s Building Regulation Law (LOE). This responsibility ensures that the construction work complies with the required technical specifications, maintaining strict control over every construction detail and supporting the stadium’s full potential in design and functionality.
In terms of safety, SGS will lead the Coordination of Health and Safety (CSS), an essential role to ensure that all on-site activities are carried out under strict occupational risk prevention measures. This focus on safety protects the workers involved and ensures the project adheres to current regulations.
Through this agreement, SGS will be part of the most significant non-sporting project in the Club’s history—a stadium with a capacity for 70,044 spectators, offering year-round entertainment and destined to be a symbol of pride and modernity for both Valencia CF and the city of Valencia once completed, with its opening scheduled for summer 2027.
