Pepelu: "These games help us to grow and get up to speed for laliga"
The Valencia CF player's verdict on the draw with Olympique de Marseille
Valencia CF midfielder Pepelu gave a positive review of the 1-1 draw with Olympique de Marseille in Tarragona.
The game
“In both the first and second half, we played aware that Olympique de Marseille are top-level opponents. Playing against great teams always gives us that extra motivation, and is a way to prepare for LALIGA. These games help us to grow and get up to speed."
Olympique de Marseille
“They're a great team, who are going to play in the Champions League this season. They have very clear ideas, they know how to break through the press, and our idea was to press well, to be well positioned, and we saw that we stole balls in dangerous areas to get chances to score. That was what we were looking for: Positive feelings."
Preparation for LALIGA
“Since Corberán's arrival, we've seen some very positive things about the team. We're on a very positive path. The idea is to continue strengthening using that vision, to continue competing in every match. We knowing that we can compete with -and beat- any opponent. We have to add many more things that we lacked last year, because teams are already getting to know how we play, but the steps we're working on are starting to show. We have the goal of growing and giving our all.”
The VCF Academy players
“We're a young team, which always includes players from the B team. They know they can step in and help us at any time. It's clear they're ready to do that.”
