Valencia CF have reached an agreement with Stade Rennais FC for the signing of Baptiste Santamaría on a two-year deal, through to June 2027.
The 30-year-old midfielder (born 09/03/1995) arrives to strengthen the midfield, where he stands out for his defensive skills. He is a player capable of providing balance, ball recovery, tactical discipline, high physical intensity, and contributing to the distribution of play.
Born in Saint-Doulchard, France, Valencia CF’s new signing began his professional career at Tours FC in France’s second division. After his move in 2016 to Angers SCO, where he spent four seasons, he established himself as one of the most prominent midfielders in the country.
Santamaría later made the leap to the Bundesliga with SC Freiburg before returning to France in 2021 to join Stade Rennais FC, where he made 127 official appearances. Most recently, in the second half of last season, he played on loan at OGC Nice.
As of this Thursday, Baptiste Santamaría joins the squad as a new Valencia CF player and will be officially presented to the media soon.
