Hugo Duro: “The team’s reaction to the goal is what gives me the most joy, I love seeing the family we are”
The Valencia CF forward watches his amazing goal in the derby against Levante UD
The Madrid striker scored one of the best goals of his career to give Valencia CF the victory in the derby against Levante UD, played at Mestalla.
In the 79th minute of the match, the reward for the Valencianist team’s effort arrived. Gayà delivered a great cross from the ‘granota’ area and Hugo Duro executed an excellent acrobatic finish to put the ball in the net past former Valencia player Ryan. A goal that made the fans roar and gave the win to our team.
“Gayà put in a good ball, which stayed a bit behind me, and the only way to finish it was like that, and luckily I hit it well. I also try that kind of finish in training. In youth football, I scored another bicycle kick,” Hugo Duro recounts.
With this goal, he now has 4 this season in LALIGA EA SPORTS 25-26, being the team’s top scorer and achieving his best scoring average of his entire career (1 goal every 171 minutes). Furthermore, throughout his time with Valencia CF, he has accumulated 41 official goals, placing him 45th in the ranking of Valencia’s top scorers, surpassing players such as Adrian Ilie, Jesús Navarro, Faas Wilkes, Carlos Soler, and Gonçalo Guedes.
“To have a stadium like Mestalla chant your name is incredible. You work day by day for those moments. When I checked my phone in the dressing room, fifty people had sent me the goal. I really liked the reaction of all my teammates. That’s what gives me the most joy, and I love seeing the family we are,” indicates the Valencia CF forward.
