Núñez: "This is the path we have to follow"
The defender reflects on the home triumph
Unai Núñez talked about his starting role in Valencia CF's 1-0 win over CA Osasuna, after the final whistle.
The win
It's a very important, much-needed victory. It puts us back on track. Osasun barely created any scoring opportunities against us; we dominated the game. We could have created more chances, but we have to keep going, keep working, and there's still a long way to go. Things are still very tight. We're very happy to have gotten the win here at home against a very difficult side.
The team's defensive work
It was not just the defensive line; everyone did a very good job defensively, because Budimir doesn't get the ball if they don't give them time to play back and move the ball about in midfield. That helped us and we did a very good defensive job.
An important win
Yes, it's worth twice as much, because the fans deserve for us to have good games at home, to get points. We've moved a little further away from the bottom of the table, but everything is very tight and we have to keep going. The next game is against a direct rival, so to speak, and at home we really have to keep working to earn the three points here again.
Confidence
I'm very comfortable here. I try to work every day with the manager's ideas, in whatever position he asks me to play. I'm really comfortable and very happy, and I think that's reflected on the pitch.
Ramazani's penalty
I was personally very calm because I knew he was going to take it well, and he converted well both times. Things can change from one day to the next. He might score or he might not, but it's down to the player taking the penalty. I truly have complete confidence in him to take penalties.
