Rodríguez: "A draw would have been a fair result"
The midfielder reviews his first start for the club
Valencia CF midfielder Guido Rodríguez reviewed the loss to Villarreal CF on Matchday 25 after the final whistle.
The game
“We tried until the very end. We were especially pressing for the equaliser in the second half, but it wasn't to be. It's frustrating; we feel like we could have deserved a little more, but we have to move on, get over this frustration from today, and focus on the next match from tomorrow, which is going to be an important fixture.”
Chances
“We had opportunities and we tried. In the second half, we had more control and tried to impose our style of play. We're still annoyed that we didn't get at least a point. It would have been fair, but result is what it is. We have to work hard and correct the details.”
His first start
“I’m happy to be able to play from the start, to be able to get more minutes. I felt good working for the team and this is going to keep getting better. Things are going to go well.”
Upcoming games at Mestalla
“We have two very important matches coming up at our home stadium, in front of our fans. It’s crucial that we stay strong and stick together like we have been. We’re going to pull through this together, I’m convinced. We need everyone to get out of this.”
