Copete: "What I'll take away is the effort and attitude"
The defender reacts to the loss in Villarreal
Valencia CF defender José Copete analysed the defeat against Villarreal CF on LaLiga Matchday 25.
The match
“The team competed well. We had our chances, but we didn't take them, and the opponents did. It's all about being clinical in both penalty areas, and today they were better at that by a goal and took the three points. Them equalising quickly was pivotal. We had taken the lead, we were well-positioned on the pitch, and they equalised after just a few minutes. I'm focusing on the positives, on how the team recovered, and in the second half we dominated possession more; they barely created any chances. I'm pleased with the effort and attitude shown by the team, and we're going to keep going. There's still a long way to go, and now we have a very important match at home, and we're going for the win.”
The penalty conceded by Ramazani
“These things happen in modern football. It’s a handball that's come from nothing. It's not an excuse; we have to keep going.”
The next match against CA Osasuna
“The schedule doesn’t stop, and the most important part of the season is still to come. I think the team are focused; we need to fine-tune a few details, but I’m confident we’ll get through this.”
