Rioja: "The game slipped away from us in the final minutes"
The attacker speaks to VCF Media about the loss to Real Betis
Luis Rioja offered his assessment of the defeat to Real Betis, in which his goal was not enough to secure points in Seville.
His analysis of the game
I think we started out very well. Betis steadily got back into the game as it went on, and in the second half they pushed a little more. We used a compact block and tried to go on the counter, having one or two chances. However, in the final minutes the game slipped away from us, after we had worked very well and tried everything to take away a positive result. It was an unfortunate move and a slip-up made it 2-1, so we leave here with a result that we didn't want.
The Copa del Rey game against Athletic Club
Next week we have a very nice game, in front of our home fans. I think that Athletic Club will be tough opponents, but we have the home advantage. Mestalla helps us a lot. It's a competition that excites us, and we want to give something nice back to the fans because they deserve it.
