TÁRREGA: "IT'S A DREAM COME TRUE TO STAY AT VALENCIA CF"
The defender talks about his contract extension
César Tárrega's recent contract renewal was the latest good news for the defender, who has also become one of the club's captains. He spoke about what it means to stay at Valencia CF to VCF Media.
Continuing at the club
I’m very happy. In the end, it's a big thing for me to remain at this club, which means a lot to me. I'm very happy and grateful.
Personal growth
The team have proven to be at a high level, especially in the latter part of last season. I think it's ultimately the fruit of all the good work that was done in the final stretch, and I'm grateful for the minutes I got and the contract renewal.
A dream come true
It's a dream come true, I've always said, to not only be part of the Valencia CF first team, but to remain at this club for many more years. Hopefully it will be for a long time. It means a lot to me and to my family. I've always considered it a dream come true, and it's a pleasure and a blessing to be here.
Trust in the coaching staff
I've been fortunate to have so many minutes. I'm very grateful for that, and it's always a pleasure to wear the Valencia CF shirt. Both the coach and his staff have given me a lot of confidence from day one. I'm very grateful to them; I feel like I've grown a lot, both as a footballer and as a person, by returning here under them. I think it's been a very positive year for me. I'm very grateful for the form I'm in and for the people around me.
Becoming one of the club captains
It’s a real honour to be able to wear the captain's armband at Valencia CF. I never imagined when I was little that I could get here, and it's a dream come true. I hope to be able to perform up to standard as club captain.
A message to the fans
To the fans, I want to say thank you very much for all these years of support. We feel all your affection in every game at Mestalla, and even during our away trips. This season, we're going to fight to bring you lots of joy, and I hope you'll always be by our side.
