Rioja: “What happened today cannot happen”
The Valencia CF winger analyses the defeat against Real Sociedad
Valencia CF's Luis Rioja, looked back at the defeat against Real Sociedad on Matchday 8.
The match
“In the first half, we practically had no chances. They were better than us. They played through almost all the presses we put on them and we were not aggressive enough to stop their moves, to commit small ‘tactical fouls’ and get them to start again and lower their morale a little. We did not manage to do it and they made it 1-0. In the second half, we started better, we were more intense, we adjusted better, we were more accurate with the ball and we had our chances, but we gave away the other two goals. It is something that cannot happen."
Match against Leganés
We have a new game in six days, against a direct rival, we can't let it slip away and we have to score points, no matter what. The fans deserve it, the teammates deserve it and we have to go for it. We can't let these chances slip away.
