His position on the pitch
“I like to move around the entire attack. We're in preseason and training is hard, so you have to be patient with the group. I'm a guy who likes to have a good feeling with my teammates when we play with two up top, and try to link up with them. Above all, I have a lot of mobility and like to break free, run into spaces and score. I hope to be able to help with what Baraja asks of me.”
Confidence
“I'm as confident as possible. Both Corona and Baraja have transmitted their complete belief to me from the beginning. Last season I played a lot; it's true that maybe I wasn't as prolific in front of goal, but I'm going to try to find the way to be so again this year and help the team as much as possible. I'm ready for everything and want to work for the team, to help my teammates achieve the objectives. I'm ready for everything."
The dressing room
"I see a great group. I've adapted very well to the group, and from the first day here they've welcomed me as if I'd been here much longer. I already knew several of my teammates and it's all been very easy. There's a good group, with a lot of energy, players who are young and a lot of enthusiasm for a great season."
Competitiveness in the front line
"I don't classify myself in any way. I'm going to try to help the team as much as possible. The other strikers are my teammates, and we're going to try to get along as best as possible to try to give the team the best possible performances. The most important thing is to create a good relationship between the whole team, to take Valencia CF where we all want the club to be."
His debut at Mestalla
“Curiously enough, my debut in the Primera Division was at Mestalla. I am very happy about it, and about having this Valencia CF debut in front of our fans this week. I am really looking forward to meeting the fans and hope that they support the team as much as possible -and that together we manage to have a great season.”
Objectives
“We have not talked about objectives or anything like that. The objective has to be our daily work, creating a good group and a good bond with the fans, which is very important for us.”
Baraja
“I have spoken with Baraja very briefly. We are focused on our work, on preparing for the season in the best possible way, both physically and mentally. Those little instructions that they are giving me when it comes to applying pressure, how we organise ourselves to press, whether we play in a high block or medium block, and those little touches that we forwards need to feel comfortable going upfield.”
Mestalla and the fans
“Every time I have been lucky enough to play at Mestalla there has always been a great atmosphere. What I have been told about the fans is that they are very demanding, as is normal, because great players have always played here and Valencia CF have always been in the Top 4 or Top 6 in Spain. So I am very happy to have this great opportunity, I am looking forward to meeting the fans and will try to bring them lots of joy.”
Staying on at Valencia CF
“Of course, I would love that. I would love for this not to be just a fleeting thing, for it to be something that lasts for many more years, but I have to earn that on the pitch and I am mentally prepared for that. I am very motivated to work towards that every day and, above all, to enjoy being at this great club and this great opportunity that I have.”
