VCF Mestalla get preseason underway with medical and fitness tests
The 2021-2022 preseason gets underway at the VCF Academy. The VCF Mestalla reported back for duty this morning at the Ciutat Esportiva after having enjoyed their summer break. The b team preseason has begun with a new coaching staff led by Miguel Ángulo.
The day begun early in the morning with the players due to report at 8.30 am in order to start the first medical tests. Greetings and smiles were at the heart of it after a few weeks without seeing one another. The day has also seen the welcome of a few players coming back from their respective loan spells.
The Asturian head coach already knows a great deal of his squads as they have trained under him in recent seasons at División de Honor Juvenil in the Juvenil A dugout. “Having many players that already know my way of thinking is an advantage”, said Miguel Ángel Angulo, the most decorated player in the club's history who will try to convey his experience to the young players that will make up the VCF Mestalla.
Plus all of the most experienced figures that remain part of the b team squad from last campaign.
Following the morning medical tests, the afternoon session saw gym work oversaw by the fitness coach Sergi Benet under Angulo from Juvenil A who took over to carry out the first fitness tests of the season, a campaign where the b team want to keep on helping the youngsters to progress in their careers as they aspire to win promotion.
The team will continue with the medical tests at IMED UCV between Tuesday and Thursday the players will undergo their thorough examinations before taking it to the training field. They will also continue with the fitness work before getting a touch of the ball. VCF Mestalla will have their first training session with full squad available before having their first day off in preseason.
With the holiday break behind us. The preseason is now own and now both the squad and the coaching staff have shown their excitement and desire to build a competitive side before the competition starts on the 4th and 5th of September in the Valencian group of Tercera RFEF.
