Players from VCF Femenino D and VCF Infantil B were able to make a dream come true this week, to round off their 2021/22 season. Both teams, champions of their respective leagues this term, had the opportunity to train at Mestalla.
“For both the players and the coaching staff it is something exciting. It is a reward that we are very proud to be able to enjoy,” said Javier Medrano, coach of the VCF Femenino D. The women's side were crowned champions of Grupo I in Primera Regional Valenta, finishing undefeated and taking a total of 19 wins and 4 draws -with 73 goals scored and only 14 conceded.
“It is the pitch that we have always dreamed of since we were little. It seems incredible for us to be here and I feel very happy to fulfill this dream," commented Alejandra Ortiz, one of the players. Ortiz has also had the chance to debut for VCF Femenino B this year.
The success reaffirms the club's commitment to the full integration into the VCF Academy of all women's teams as of 2021/22.
Also champions this year, in Grupo II of Liga Preferente Infantil, were VCF Infantil B, and their coach Vicente Amposta explained that "We are in a spectacular moment, and to train at a ground as big as Mestalla is another experience in this great season has been,"
“From seeing it on television to being able to be here, it is an unforgettable experience for me,” concluded player Luca Martín.
