Valencia CF pay tribute to season ticket holders with over 50 years of loyalty at Mestalla
The club presented a commemorative pin to 29 lifelong fans in recognition of their unwavering dedication to Valencia CF.
Ahead of Valencia CF's first preseason friendly of the summer against Villarreal CF, Manu Vallejo took time out from training to talk to VCF Media about the plans for the coming weeks.
Getting back to work
"We've just got started and we've got one and a half weeks under our belts. We're looking forward to competing and to carrying out the things that the coach has been asking of us. Where better to do that than in games?
"From the start, we need to see that symphony between the team and the coach. That's what we are going to try to make happen.
"I'm feeling very good. LaLiga is going to be very demanding on us, and we're working on that right away."
Training sessions in Oliva
"We're training hard, with double and triple sessions. That's what we need in order to start the season strong, and to be a very competitive team doing everything that the coach asks of us. The sessions are tough, but that's what it's time for. We're preparing in order to start the season as well as possible."
Improving in preseason
"What every player wants is to compete, be that in a preseason game or any other fixture. The important thing is to pick up minutes in these games.
"The coach is very clear about what he wants to see from this Valencia CF side. That's what is going to make us grow. This commitment and effort, this competitiveness, comes from that. We will give our all until the final moment, and not give up on any ball or any chance."
The mentality for the season
"We will go into every game with possibilities. It depends on a lot of factors, but if we compete and do everything that the coach is asking of us, then we will be much closer to winning than to losing.
"Both the coach and the players want this to be a better season than the last one. This starts now, and we need to be fully focused on the competition. We need to improve on last year in both our position and our performances.
"The objectives that we set should be nothing beyond winning game after game, which is the important thing."
