Valencia CF to play Athletic Club in Copa del Rey quarter finals
The date of the fixture will be announced in due course
Valencia CF will play Athletic Club at Mestalla in the quarter finals of the Copa del Rey. The game, which will take place over a single game, will decide which of the two teams will progress to the semifinals of the competition.
Having eliminated CF La Nucía (0-3) and Sporting Gijon (0-4), the team meet their first Primera División side in this year's edition of the Copa del Rey.
Athletic Club reach the quarterfinals after beating UD Alzira (0-2), Sesato River (0-1), Eldense (1-6) and RCD Espanyol (1-0).
The two sides faced off last season in the Copa del Rey, with Valencia CF emerging victorious to make their way to the final -in which they lost on penalties to Real Betis.
