Carlos Soler analysed the defeat to Sevilla after the final whistle in conversation with VCF Media. The midfielder expressed the squad's disappointment with the result, and their determination to get back to winning ways against Granada CF next time out.
The game
"Three very important points got away from us. We came into this one after a very serious showing at the Camp Nou, and winning today would have given us confidence. That didn't happen, and Sevilla took the three points thanks to a move that we can't allow teams to make. We have to focus on the next game now, and try to be as positive as possible. We're hurt. We have a week in which to think about what we did wrong, correct it and work to prepare for game against Granada CF."
Missed chances
"We had our chances. Sevilla FC are a very well organised side who defend very well, and on a few counters we were able to hurt them. We weren't effective though, and they were. They carried the possession, and we didn't get anything positive from this match. We have to look to the game against Granada CF now, which is the most important thing. The points in that game will be necessary."
Preparing to face Granada CF
"The game against Granada CF is very important. It's coming up next week. LaLiga doen't stop, and we're nearly at the halfway mark of the season. We need to try to take a victory that can give us a little more positivity and confidence. We came into this game off the back of the draw against FC Barcelona. We leave here today with maybe a worse feeling than we should about the game, because we ended up losing but had our chances against a team who don't make things easy. We didn't take our chances, and they took theirs. There were opportunities; I don't remember a really clear one, but we did get close. They got the win in the 80th minute, taking away the three points that we were very motivated to get -to move up to a little better position in the table and give us more confidence. We have to try to be as positive as possible and keep working to improve, because the season keeps going."
