Óscar Fernández: “Hopefully we can see these boys closer to elite football and bringing joy in the near future”
VCF Mestalla head coach, Óscar Fernández assesed on VCF Media the 1-1 late away draw to CE L’ Hospitalet on the final day of the Segunda B campaign.
“It’s a shame that we could not end the season with a win. Yet again the effectiveness in the final third penalised us. In the second half we defended well and they managed to equalise in the closing minutes on a marking mistake.
A tough season were the lack of effectiveness has affected the season has come to a close, but it’s over so we mustn’t dwell on it.
Today Javi Guerra has made his debut and has had a really good 15 minutes and Pedro Alemañ has featured again. The season has taken a heavy toll, the results speak for themselves, it’s not an excuse because bottom line I’m the head coach. Hopefully this toll in their development process bears fruit. Hopefully we can see these boys closer to elite football and bringing joy in the near future”.
