In light of an article that appeared today in the Las Provincias newspaper, Valencia CF wish to emphasise that in the Trofeo Naranja game played this Wednesday against AC Milan, all social and health regulations were met at Mestalla.
1. Valencia CF are part of a working group with the Generalitat Valenciana, know very well what the social and healthcare regulations are, and have in fact participated in establishing such protocol.
2. The current regulations state that between each group attending a football match it is necessary to leave one separating seat, without the need to leave a separate row between the occupied rows -a distance that was fulfilled both prior to and during the game.
3. These regulations establish a maximum occupancy of 3 differentiated sectors, with a maximum occupancy of 1,000 people in each of these sectors.
4. Despite the fact that the current regulations state that these groups can consist of up to six people, Valencia CF decided to reduce this number and sell tickets only to groups of up to two people.
5. We wish to thank the stewards and employees of the club, who achieved the difficult task of maintaining that social distancing and seat separation was maintained, as well as enforcing the use of masks.
6. Despite the fact that the current regulations authorised that stadium bars could be opened for the sale of food and drink, the club decided to reduce this to the sale of only water and soft drinks, to combat the high temperatures.
7. The stadium speaker reminded fans of the regulations, both in advance and throughout the match, and this information was present on video scoreboards and posters inside the stadium.
8. The club support awareness campaigns against COVID such as the Generalitat Valenciana’s vaccination drive.
9. Valencia CF want the return of fans to the stadium and will always ensure the best health and social conditions are provided for fans. The club are in constant communication with the joint working group formed with the Ministry of Health.
10. We appeal to the responsibility of the media when dealing with such a serious issue. In this case, the irresponsibility of Las Provincias is something that does not help the work done in collective solidarity by clubs, authorities and fans, in our aim of a responsible return to the stadiums.
