Meet Juanjo Garrancho, VCF Mestalla new signing in goal
VCF Mestalla announced the signing of Juanjo Garrancho as new b team goalkeeper. The Basque guardian undertook his first training session alongside his new teammates and the coaching staff led by Miguel Ángel Angulo whom he had the chance to greet.

Garrancho describes himself as” I’m a strong goalkeeper with physicality but calm who brings out the grit when needed and I’m a good competitor". As he has shown throughout his career which at 24 years of age has seen him move up though the Real Sociedad youth system with various different spells in teams such as el Gerkina, CD Badajoz, Duz Internacional Madrid or Cádiz CF B, he boasts Segunda B and Copa del experience.

Garrancho arrives at the Ciutat Esportiva which he was really close to joining a few seasons ago at Juvenil level. “I had a thorn in my side and I’ve been really looking forward to arriving here for a long time, and I’ve finally made it”.
I’m really looking forward to get going and I’m really excited”, says the player who is also an education student.

As a curiosity Garrancho combined football and athletics early in his footballing career becoming 60 metres hurdles national junior champion before finally deciding to play between the sticks. In that position he will try to help out the VCF Mestalla. I want to be at my best and obviously win promotion”.
