Valencia CF were back in domestic midweek action to welcome Sevilla FC at Mestalla on Tuesday the 22nd of December at 5:30 pm kick-off time at Mestalla on Matchday 15 of LaLiga Santander.
The game started a high tempo at both ends with the away side providing the goal thread in the early goings of the game with Valencia CF pressing high up the pitch trying to win the ball back and looking to find a foothold in the game.
Valencia CF were forced into a substitution with Guillem Molina replacing Gabriel Paulista to make after taking a knock into Ocampos. Guillem Molina made his LaLiga first-team debut slotted into that Valencia CF backline.
Valencia CF were put on the back foot by the away side after the substitution with the Valencia CF José Luis Gayà enjoying the first Valencia CF chance arriving at the back post but his shot was pushed away by Bono over the half-hour mark.
Valencia CF grew into the game in the closing minutes through dangerous set-pieces. Denis Cheryshev enjoying the last kick of the first half following a quick counter-attack after a quick exchange between Guedes and Soler but Cheryshev’s effort went straight at Bono.
The first half finished goalless with nothing to separate the sides at half time and all to play in the second half.
The same script followed in the second half with Jaume Domènech being called into action from a corner kick but he managed punched to safety.
Minutes later, Denis Cherysev forced Bono into a full-stretch save to turn it behind for a corner kick after a quick turnover counter-attack which was started off by Gonçalo Guedes and finished off by the Russian.
Mouctar Diakhaby made a last-ditch clearance at the other end heading it away to keep the scoreline at 0-0 and then again guiding it behind for a corner kick on the hour mark in the game.
Gonçalo Guedes tested Bono as the ball was played into him but his effort went straight at Bono in an all-action passage of play. Javi Gracía shuffled his pack making a double substation José Luis Gayà being replaced by Álex Blanco and Gonçalo Guedes making way for Yunus Musah.
Jaume Domènech pulled off a superb save to Kounde with 15 minutes plus stoppage time left to play.
Suso made it 0-1 on 80 minutes to Sevilla FC. Valencia CF tried to get back on level terms after Sevilla FC’s goal bringing on Manu Vallejo for Eliaquim Mangala for the final minutes.
