Marcos André makes debut at Mestalla
Marcos André brought a frenetic few days to a close at Mestalla on Matchday 3, making his debut for Valencia CF. The Brazilian, who had signed on Wednesday and only trained once with his new teammates, was given his first appearance for his new club in the second half against Deportivo Alavés.

Coming on for Gonçalo Guedes in the 67th minute, he was sent several balls his way, and had a shot saved by opposition goalkeeper Fernando Pacheco.
“I have no words to thank everybody for their welcome. Since my arrival they’ve been great, so I can only thank the club for their trust in me. I’m really happy,” he told VCF Media after the game.
“I’ve seen games here on the television, but there’s nothing like being out on the pitch. You feel the presence of the fans, who have been allowed back in, and you enjoy it whether it’s on the bench or on the pitch. We hope that we can enjoy ourselves as much as possible this season, and the fans as well.”
The striker will now have two weeks in which to further acquaint himself with the tactics of coach José Bordalás and his new teammates, during the international break.
