Baraja: "We want to dedicate the victory to the victims and those affected by the 'DANA'"
The coach previews the game against Real Betis
Toni Lato reflected on the defeat to Real Valladolid in a post-match interview with VCF Media at the Nuevo José Zorilla.
The good start
The team started very well in the first 20 minutes. We could have scored a goal and killed off the game. In the second half, doubts entered our minds with balls played behind us, we had a lot of space between our players and we weren't able to play in the last few minutes. We suffered a big blow today. It is a tough situation for us. We have to pick ourselves up and keep believing. How we started the game is the way to go, and what we had talked about during the week. We have to grow from there.
Lots of doubts
There were certain situations that we could have countered inside, as they were getting behind us too easily. That made us back down and hesitate when it came to stealing the and not having the space to counter. In the first half we were much better and in the second they had a few more chances. We are very annoyed.
Intensity and bravery
The players are all in this together. Today we showed that at the start of the game. You could see an intense and brave team that wanted to go for the victory. These are difficult situations. We have to keep believing in ourselves, be brave, be consistent with those starts and keep persisting when the game isn't killed off. It's a frustrating time, but we're all in this together. It is a difficult moment for us and for the fans. I am the first to understand the situation, and I am the first to be annoyed both as a player and as a fan. It's difficult and sad, but we have to think about starting bravely in the next game, like we did today.
