Kang In Lee, nominated for 2019 Kopa Trophy
Kang In is one of ten nominees to take home the ‘Kopa Trophy’, the prestigious award France Football magazine presents to the best U21 player in the world in 2019. The winner will be announced on December 2.

This is the second edition of the award, which was won by Mbappé in 2018. The Valencia CF Academy product is among the ten nominees this year. Who will choose the winner? The Kopa Trophy winner is decided by a vote among 'Balón de Oro' winners. Each of them will nominate three players, awarding them with 5, 3 or 1 point.

Aside from the age requirement, each nominee will still be under 21 on December 31, 2019. Kang In, who has this past year solidified his spot in the first squad after debuting on October 30, 2018 in the Copa match against CD Ebro, received the Golden Ball of the U20 World Cup when he was elected the best footballer of the tournament, where he reached the final with the South Korean squad.
