Guillamón: "We have to start the year with the same enthusiasm and keep getting victories"

Hugo Guillamón spoke after the 1-2 defeat to RCD Espanyol on New Year's Eve, and lamented the loss in the final game of 2021.

A harsh defeat

"It's a shame, because we were very close. The team showed up and we really wanted to close the year with a victory."

A tough game

"At the end we struggled . They started to push us back and dominate, but the penalty and the sending off hindered us a lot. We wanted the victory instead of settling for a draw, and they scored their second goal."

Keeping the fans motivated

"It would have been nice to bring joy to the fans today, but the important thing is what happens in May. We have to start the year with the same enthusiasm and keep getting victories."

Thinking about the Copa del Rey

"We have to rest up and focus on the cup. We are very excited and we are going to Cartagena looking to go through."
