Gómez' goal run against RCD Espanyol

Maxi Gómez has scored in his last two games against this Thursday's opponents

Thursday's penultimate LaLiga game of the season for Valencia CF sees them up against already-relegated RCD Espanyol, and the team have to win to keep their hopes of UEFA Europa League football next term alive. They are also relying on slip-ups for rival teams in the battle for the Top 7, but have a goalscorer in their ranks who is keen to do his part.

Maxi Gómez has scored against 'Los Pericos' in his last two games against them, the most recent being for Valencia CF earlier this term. The Uruguayan got his team's winning goal in a 1-2 triumph, as they came back from behind at the RCDE Stadium.

He has faced Espanyol on 5 occasions and scored 4 times against them, making the Barcelona-based team one of the Primera División outfits against whom he has enjoyed the most success.

With two games remaining, he is Valencia CF's top goalscorer in LaLiga this season, with 10 to his name.
