Thierry Rendall plays again 322 days later
The Valencia CF full-back, recovered from his anterior cruciate ligament tear, returned to competition against FC Barcelona at the Estadi Johan Cruyff
Kevin Gameiro is always on the lookout for goals, and he gets his chance to put his name on the scoresheet again on Friday night against Levante UD. The Frenchman found the net twice against Valencia CF's cross-city rivals last time out, and should he find an opportunity again when LaLiga resumes, he will be dedicating the goal to the fans who are unable to attend the derby.
"We know that we won't be as sharp as before, as it's the first game back. We have to be focused. We really want to take the 3 points and prepare for this second part of the league season," said Gameiro.
"If I could score the opener, that would be the best thing. I have good memories of the last game, which we won."
Before the contest which resumes Valencia CF's LaLiga campaign, the striker also gave some rapidfire answers to questions from the club's partner: Brewing company Amstel.
