Foulquier: "We are assimilating the coach's concepts"
Following a 0-2 win in Switzerland over FC St. Gallen, Valencia CF defender Dmitri Foulquier assessed the showing in the team's second preseason friendly of 2022/23.
The performance
The team are working well. We are assimilating the coach's concepts and, whilst there are definitely things to improve and continue to get better at, we are feeling good and we are growing in terms of our fitness. We're going to keep working.
Summer 2021 vs. Summer 2022
I don't like to compare things. A new coach has come in, he has new concepts and we have to assimilate them. I think that the team are doing well. As I said, there are things to improve, and we are going to do that.
Two wins from two games
It's good, even though results aren't the most important thing at the moment, but rather to get on the pace and take on the coach's ideas.
Ambitions for 2022/23
Obviously a team like Valencia CF want to be in Europe. I remember seeing them there from a young age. We all want it.
The changes under Gattuso
The coach, like everybody else, wants to win. This doesn't change. We all have different styles, but in the end everybody wants to win, intensity and for us to compete.
