Focus shifts to LaLiga run-in

Valencia CF returned to training on Wednesday, in the aftermath of a valient losing effort against Atalanta BC in the Champions League. The team are now fully focused on the remainder of the LaLiga season, having gone out of the European competition.
"It was very difficult, and even more so with no fans present, but we tried right until the end," wrote Ferran Torres on social media following the thwarted comeback.
Pending the decision by LaLiga as to the immediate schedule of the competition, Valencia CF have a demanding calendar ahead. However, they can face it with optimism after previous results this year. In games against Levante UD, Real Madrid, CA Osasuna, SD Eibar, Villarreal CF, Athletic Club, Granada CF, Real Valladolid, CD Leganés, RCD Espanyol and Sevilla FC, the players proved to be competitive, picking up a large number of points and losing only once.
In total, in the corresponding fixtures they picked up 22 points, with 6 wins and 4 draws.
Both in 2017/18 and 2018/19, Valencia CF managed to make it into fourth place thanks to their consistency in the second half of the campaign. Eleven games are still to be played, and 33 points remain at stake.
