Florenzi apologises for red card
Alessandro Florenzi was shown a straight red card for the first time in his career at the Coliseum Alfonso Pérez on Matchday 23, after a poor challenge in the 78th minute of the game against Getafe. Following the final whistle, the Italian apologised for the incident.

“I'm sorry to have left the team down to ten men. We are going to pick ourselves back up quickly in order to win the next battle," said the number 25, who will miss the Matchday 24 encounter with Atletico Madrid through suspension.

The sending off was only the second of Florenzi's professional career. The first was last season when playing for AS Roma against Empoli, on the occasion of his 28th birthday, when he picked up two yellow cards.
