Eray Cömert (Rheinfelden, Switzerland - 4th of February of 1998). The Swiss was Valencia CF's first signing in the winter transfer window. The centre-back adds to the defensive options to Valencia CF for head coach José Bordalás, and has played in European competitions and as a full international for Switzerland.
Cömert's playing style is that of a modern centre-back, comfortable with the ball at his feet and able to build up the attack from the back. He can provide both short passes and precise long balls upfield, providing alternatives to overcome pressure from opposing teams and initiate counterattacks.
At 1.83m in height, Cömert is not the tallest of central defenders, but has proven to be adept at dealing with crosses and aerial duels. On the ground, he has a notable ability to cut out attacking moves from the opposition.
Despite the fact that he has never played in LaLiga, Cömert has an advantage when it comes to facilitating his adaptation. He played alongside Omar Alderete at Basel FC two seasons ago, forming a pairing in the axis of the defence at the Swiss club.
At 23 years of age, Cömert has already played in European competition and debuted with the Swiss national team. He is considered one of the best young central defenders in Europe, has a promising future ahead of him, and has the opportunity to continue growing at Valencia CF.
